Job Title:
Collections Specialist Job Description The Collections Specialist plays a key role in supporting accounts receivable activities and maintaining healthy customer account balances. In this position, you contact customers about past-due accounts, document all collection activities, respond to account inquiries, and deliver professional, customer-focused service to both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities
+ Contact customers via phone and email regarding past-due accounts and outstanding balances.
+ Encourage timely payment while supporting organizational goals related to accounts receivable and collections.
+ Document all collection activities, account notes, and payment commitments accurately within company systems.
+ Respond promptly and professionally to customer account inquiries and correspondence.
+ Participate in a departmental call group, answering incoming calls and providing courteous, professional customer service.
+ Communicate regularly with internal departments regarding customer account status, payment activity, and any issues requiring follow-up.
+ Monitor account information and payment updates to ensure records remain current and accurate.
+ Perform additional administrative and accounting support tasks as assigned to assist the broader team. Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience. No collections experience required
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ Experience handling customer account inquiries and resolving issues in a professional manner.
+ Strong attention to detail when documenting account activity and payment commitments.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
+ Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and professionally by phone, email, and in writing.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment. Work Environment This is an office-based position in a standard professional environment, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will frequently use computers and business software throughout the workday and work in a collaborative team setting with regular interaction across multiple departments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Neenah, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
