$33 to $35 Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Payroll & Billing Specialist to manage certified payroll reporting, payroll processing, customer billing, and related administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll compliance, payroll processing, and billing within a construction, public works, or contracting environment. Key Responsibilities Certified Payroll & Compliance Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports for public works and prevailing-wage projects. Ensure payroll records comply with federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirements. Review employee classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, overtime, and deductions for accuracy. Maintain supporting documentation, including timesheets, payroll records, employee classifications, and benefit information. Research and resolve discrepancies related to certified payroll submissions. Monitor compliance with applicable labor laws, prevailing wage requirements, and project-specific requirements. Respond to payroll audits, compliance inquiries, and requests for supporting documentation. Billing & Accounts Receivable Prepare and submit customer invoices based on contracts, purchase orders, time records, and project documentation. Review billing information for accuracy before submission. Track outstanding invoices and assist with accounts receivable follow-up. Reconcile billing records and investigate discrepancies. Work with project managers, customers, and accounting staff to resolve billing issues. Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, contracts, and supporting documentation. Qualifications 2+ years of payroll, certified payroll, billing, or accounting experience. Experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements strongly preferred. Construction, public works, government contracting, or staffing industry experience preferred. Strong understanding of payroll calculations, overtime, deductions, and wage classifications. Experience preparing invoices and working with accounts receivable. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office . Experience with payroll, accounting, ERP, or timekeeping software. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling payroll and employee information. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DIR-certified payroll reporting and California prevailing wage projects. Familiarity with Davis-Bacon Act requirements. Experience working with union payroll, fringe benefits, and apprenticeship requirements. Knowledge of California wage and hour regulations.
Pay:
$33.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
