In this vital role, you will manage the entire billing process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, effective communication with insurance companies, and meticulous maintenance of medical records. Your proactive approach will help optimize revenue cycles and improve patient satisfaction through clear and efficient billing practices. We are looking for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about healthcare administration. Duties Prepare and submit accurate healthcare claims using billing software, ensuring compliance with coding standards such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications. Review medical records and documentation to verify proper coding, including ICD coding and CPT coding, to maximize reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance providers to resolve discrepancies and expedite payments. Manage medical collections by contacting patients regarding outstanding balances and setting up payment plans when necessary. Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality. Stay current with healthcare claims management policies, health insurance regulations, and updates in medical terminology to ensure compliance. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries related to billing statements, insurance coverage, and payment options. Skills Strong knowledge of medical coding systems including
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, DRG classifications, and medical terminology. Proficiency in billing software applications and Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting purposes. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems to manage medical records efficiently. Understanding of healthcare claims management processes and health insurance policies. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. Ability to analyze medical records accurately to ensure proper billing procedures are followed. Knowledge of medical office operations combined with customer service skills to create a positive patient experience. familiar with Insurance credentialing process experiences is a plus.
