Utility Billing Clerk & Administrative Assistant

Job Description

Overview The City of Davison is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-service-focused individual to join our team as a Utility Billing Clerk & Administrative Assistant . This is a varied position that combines utility billing, customer service, financial transactions, and general municipal administrative support . The successful candidate will interact with City residents and businesses while supporting several City departments and functions. Responsibilities
  • Process City water and sewer utility billing and maintain accurate customer accounts.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service at the counter, by telephone, and by email.
  • Receive and process utility, tax, permit, license, and other City payments.
  • Provide administrative support to the Department of Public Works.
  • Assist the Assessor and Treasurer with clerical and administrative functions.
  • Support City boards, committees, and commissions with meeting materials, records, and related tasks.
  • Become a Certified Notary Public after required training.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and assist with City website updates.
  • Provide backup support for other City offices and functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and BS&A
  • A strong written and verbal communicator A high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of office or administrative experience are preferred.
Municipal, utility billing, or customer-service experience is a plus.
Pay:
$20.43 - $22.98 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
