Medical Billing Specialist Optimum Care Partners - 1.0 Edmond, OK Job Details Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Research Financial issue resolution Attention to detail Problem-solving Document review Full Job Description Optimum Care Partners is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to help patients understand their bills, manage prior authorizations, and identify billing errors. This person will work closely with our billing team and clinical staff to resolve account issues accurately and promptly. Responsibilities Answer patient calls about statements, insurance payments, balances, and refunds with patience and professionalism. Research disputed balances by reviewing claims, remittance information, payment postings, adjustments, and patient accounts. Identify billing errors, request corrections, and follow through until the issue is resolved. Review accounts for accuracy before patient statements are sent when needed. Determine whether prior authorization is required, submit requests, track decisions, and document authorization details. Coordinate with providers and clinical staff when an authorization requires clinical documentation or an appeal. Document patient conversations and account actions clearly. Qualifications At least two years of medical billing, patient accounts, or revenue cycle experience preferred. Experience with prior authorizations and insurance claim research strongly preferred. Ability to read an explanation of benefits (EOB) and explain patient responsibility in plain language. Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and customer service skills. Comfortable working with electronic health records, billing systems, and confidential patient information. The right candidate will be comfortable speaking with patients and digging into an account to find and resolve the cause of a billing problem.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
