Front Office & Billing Coordinator Insight Counseling & Therapy Position Summary Insight Counseling & Therapy is seeking an experienced, organized, and personable Front Office & Billing Coordinator . This is a combined position that supports the daily operations of our front office while managing important internal billing and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare or mental health billing experience and be comfortable working with clients, clinicians, insurance companies, and our external billing company. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to identify and follow through on billing and administrative issues. Responsibilities Greet clients, answer phones, respond to questions, schedule appointments, route messages, and provide general front-office support. Assist clients with intake paperwork, insurance information, account questions, copays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other payments. Review and follow up on unpaid, partially paid, denied, rejected, or delayed claims and identify billing issues requiring correction or additional follow-up. Work closely with our external billing company and insurance payers to resolve outstanding claims, payment discrepancies, denials, recoupments, and other billing concerns. Review ERAs, payments, account activity, and outstanding balances to help ensure payments are received and accurately accounted for. Assist with client collections, payment arrangements, and follow-up on outstanding balances. Review and process sliding-fee applications according to agency policies and ensure approved adjustments are accurately documented. Complete and track provider credentialing and recredentialing, including CAQH and insurance/payer applications and required documentation. Verify and update client demographic and insurance information and assist with insurance-related administrative needs. Maintain accurate billing, credentialing, and client account documentation while protecting confidential information in accordance with HIPAA. Communicate significant billing concerns, unresolved claims, payment discrepancies, or credentialing issues to management. Provide additional front-office and administrative support as needed. Qualifications Previous healthcare or mental health billing experience required. Experience working with insurance claims, denials, ERAs, accounts receivable, and payer follow-up. Previous experience in a medical, behavioral health, or other healthcare office strongly preferred. Credentialing and CAQH experience preferred. Experience with electronic health record and billing systems. Strong computer and data-entry skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional and friendly communication skills, both in person and by telephone. Comfortable discussing insurance, billing, and financial matters with clients. Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, billing representatives, clinicians, and clients. Knowledge of HIPAA and client confidentiality requirements. Compensation $23.00-$26.00 per hour , depending on relevant billing experience, credentialing knowledge, and overall qualifications.
