These positions are temporary-to-permanent positions, meaning that the position has the potential to become a permanent position should the candidate be a great fit for the physician's clinic. Health benefits may also be offered after the 12-week probationary period. Must live in or surrounding areas of Chattanooga We are seeking to hire an experienced, dependable, and vibrant Billing Specialist. Job Description :
A busy and reputable practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Billing Specialist to focus on follow-up claims, denials, and appeals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in medical billing and insurance follow-up. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years of experience working follow-up claims, utilize their expertise to handle denials and appeals efficiently. In this role, you will work closely with various payors to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution while maintaining excellent provider relations. Key Responsibilities for Billing Handle follow-up of outstanding insurance claims, ensuring timely resolution. Review and analyze denied claims to determine appropriate action, including initiating appeals. Communicate with insurance payors to resolve issues related to claims processing, coding, and payment discrepancies. Work collaboratively with the billing team and other departments to ensure proper claim submission and follow-up procedures are followed. Maintain excellent relationships with insurance providers and ensure effective communication and dispute resolution. Stay updated on insurance policies, coding guidelines, and industry regulations to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement. Provide detailed reports on claim status and follow-up efforts to management as needed.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing Strong understanding of insurance billing processes, including knowledge of various payors. Proven ability to handle complex denials and appeal processes, ensuring claims are resubmitted accurately and on time. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with insurance payors and providers. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficient in billing software and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CBCS) is a plus.
