Type:

full-time Overview Our client is searching for a Billing Analyst responsible for preparing, monitoring, and reporting on government contract billing functions. This role supports the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, interprets accounting data, prepares reports and reconciliations, and works closely with Contracts, Program Management, and Treasury to resolve billing issues and maintain the integrity of the receivables function. Responsibilities Prepare government contract billings in accordance with FAR, contract terms, and internal guidelines; resolve issues and maintain supporting files. Prepare assigned general ledger reconciliations and monthly journal entries with supporting documentation, and resolve open items timely. Reconcile billing system data to financial system data and analyze accounts as requested. Monitor and report on unbilled balances and provide analysis of billing variances. Respond to internal and external billing inquiries, including customer and program-level requests. Partner with the Contracts team on contract billing guidelines and with Treasury on receivable issues. Compile and analyze receivables audit responses and support incurred cost submission efforts. Maintain current working knowledge of GAAP, federal and state regulations, and government contracting requirements, and apply that knowledge to assigned work. Participate in problem solving, process improvement, and special projects within the receivables environment. Qualifications BS degree in Accounting or a related field with accounting coursework. Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or government contracting; cost accounting experience preferred. Experience with Deltek Costpoint required. Working understanding of U.S. GAAP and government contract billing practices. Strong general ledger reconciliation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with computerized accounting systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
