Job Description
Join a Growing Pediatric Therapy Organization We are a fast-growing pediatric therapy organization seeking an experienced Insurance Billing Specialist with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) billing experience to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely reimbursement, maintaining accurate billing records, and supporting children and families by keeping services uninterrupted. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing the full insurance billing cycle for ABA services. ResponsibilitiesInsurance Billing & Revenue Cycle Submit accurate insurance claims for ABA therapy and related pediatric therapy services. Review, track, and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid claims. Follow up with commercial insurance carriers and Medicaid managed care organizations. Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts. Prepare corrected claims and appeal denied claims. Monitor accounts receivable and work aging reports to maximize collections. Insurance Verification & Authorizations Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Obtain, monitor, and renew prior authorizations. Track authorized units and expiration dates to prevent interruptions in care. Communicate with clinical and administrative staff regarding authorization needs. Billing Compliance Ensure documentation supports billed services. Maintain compliance with payer guidelines and billing regulations. Identify billing discrepancies and recommend process improvements. Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation. Team Collaboration Work closely with clinicians, intake coordinators, and leadership. Support credentialing and payer enrollment efforts as needed. Assist with special billing and revenue cycle projects. QualificationsRequired Minimum 2 years of medical insurance billing experience At least 1 year of ABA billing experience (required) Experience with commercial insurance and Medicaid managed care plans Knowledge of ABA CPT codes, including 97151, 97153, 97155, 97156, and related codes Experience obtaining and managing insurance authorizations Strong understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), denials, appeals, and claims resolution Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience with CentralReach, Ensora, Motivity, or other ABA practice management software Medical Billing and Coding certification Credentialing experience Experience in pediatric behavioral health or autism services What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Takes ownership of their work and follows claims through to payment.
