Job Description

Auction Catalog, Data Entry & Support Pay:
$19.00-$21.00 per hour
Location:
In person in Lake in the Hills, Illinois This position is intended for candidates within a reasonable commuting distance who can reliably report to Lake in the Hills Monday through Friday. Schedule & Hours Approximately 32-40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday. Ideally, the candidate would also be open to participating in our production team's rotating Saturday schedule, which is typically one half-day Saturday per month with a corresponding half-day off during the same week which is great for scheduling personal appointments. This is a workload-based position. Some days may end earlier when assigned catalog work is complete, while heavier production days may require additional hours. The person selected must be comfortable with this variation and available to work additional hours when needed. This position requires consistent availability and is intended for someone seeking steady, ongoing weekday employment rather than a flexible or self-directed schedule. Hertel's Coins is seeking a highly reliable, accurate, and productive employee to support our weekly auction catalog production, data entry, and operational workflow. This position is ideal for someone who works well with detailed computer-based tasks but is also comfortable transitioning into hands-on shipping, packaging, and production support when catalog work is complete. Auction catalog preparation and data entry will be the primary responsibility of this position. Primary Responsibilities Type and prepare auction catalog descriptions and related auction information Complete high-volume structured data entry accurately and efficiently Assist with auction catalog preparation, organization, corrections, and related administrative work Organize auction materials, paperwork, and daily workflow Assist with customer order preparation and packaging when catalog responsibilities are complete Learn basic shipping and fulfillment procedures to provide backup support when needed Assist with order pulling, packaging, and other structured production responsibilities as trained and assigned Complete other routine data-entry, administrative, or operational support tasks as needed Required Qualifications Highly reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance Able to maintain consistent Monday through Friday availability, generally between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., based on workload Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and have reliable transportation to consistently report to work as scheduled Minimum accurate typing speed of 50 words per minute Selected applicants will complete a typing speed and accuracy test during the interview process Strong attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable performing repetitive computer-based work at a sustained production pace Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and basic Microsoft Excel functions Strong spelling, grammar, and written communication skills Comfortable learning new computer programs, online platforms, and detailed procedures Able to follow established procedures and complete assigned responsibilities without repeated reminders Able to work independently while also contributing to a team Comfortable transitioning between seated computer work and hands-on production work as needed Must successfully complete a job-related background check as a condition of employment Previous coin or collectible experience is not required. Training will be provided. Essential Job Functions and Physical Requirements This position includes substantial computer-based catalog and data-entry work as well as hands-on shipping and production support. The person selected must be able to consistently perform the essential duties of the position, including: Type accurately at a sustained pace for extended periods Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements Grasp, sort, handle, and organize small items, auction materials, and packaging materials Frequently staple and organize auction materials Stand for periods of time during shipping, order preparation, and packaging work Occasionally lift, carry, and move packages or supplies weighing up to 20 pounds Regularly transition between seated computer work and standing production work Maintain the speed, accuracy, and productivity required to complete weekly auction and operational workloads Compensation $19.00-$21.00 per hour, based on relevant experience, demonstrated typing speed, accuracy, reliability, and overall qualifications. Pay:

This position is primarily computer-based catalog and data-entry work, with occasional hands-on shipping, packaging, and production support as needed.
