Position Summary:
The Dental Data Entry Representative is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining patient and insurance information within the practice management system. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data integrity, supporting billing processes, and facilitating efficient patient care operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage high volumes of information with accuracy and confidentiality.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Enter and update patient demographic, insurance, and treatment information into the dental practice management system Verify accuracy of data entered and correct any discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies Assist with insurance verification and ensure all required documentation is properly recorded Collaborate with front desk, billing, and clinical teams to ensure accurate and complete patient records Process and scan documents into electronic health records (EHR) Support billing department with data entry related to claims, payments, and adjustments Maintain confidentiality of all patient and company information
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred Previous experience in a dental, medical, or healthcare administrative role preferred Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus Strong attention to detail and data accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic knowledge of dental terminology and insurance processes preferred

Data entry accuracy and speed Strong computer and typing skills Effective communication and collaboration Problem-solving and attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Work Environment & Schedule:
Office-based position within a dental practice or administrative setting Standard business hours; may require flexibility based on operational needs
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer Ability to lift and move light office materials as needed
