Overview We are seeking a Field Data Collector to support utility design and permitting efforts through accurate field mapping and data collection. This role involves working outdoors to gather location-based data using GPS and other surveying tools. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a field environment. Key Responsibilities Use GPS equipment and mapping tools to locate and record field data points Conduct site surveys to support utility design and permitting processes Collect accurate field measurements and maintain clear, detailed notes Input and process collected data into engineering systems Operate equipment such as rangefinders, digital cameras, and data collectors Walk job sites (including pole-to-pole routes) while carrying necessary equipment Maintain field equipment and company vehicles Follow all safety procedures and guidelines Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass background and credit screening requirements Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions Ability to walk long distances and navigate uneven or rough terrain Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace) Ability to read maps, plan routes, and work independently Strong time management and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in field data collection, surveying, or utility work Familiarity with GPS equipment or total stations Knowledge of utility right-of-way processes Work Environment / Additional Information Primarily outdoor, field-based work Regular walking and standing for extended periods Occasional travel and overnight stays during the work week (advance notice provided) Standard full-time schedule; specific hours not specified Compensation $19/hour - $23/hour (based on experience) Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision coverage, supplemental insurance, and 401(k) plan EEO / Disclaimer (USA) The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the incumbent(s) of this job.
