The Intake Specialist is responsible for supporting the Patient Assistance Program (PAP) by managing the initial triaging of patient applications. This includes data entry and coordinating work through appropriate channels as per established business rules. The role requires working onsite and involves a combination of individual and group settings.
Responsibilities:
Complete the intake process of all applications into the Customer Relationship Management System (CRM). Associate and tag all images to the patient, and enter all relevant information including patient demographics, physician, drug, income, household, and insurance information into the CRM. Conduct initial assessments of applications for missing information and perform patient outreach to obtain required data. Complete initial assessments of simplified applications. Identify appropriate workflow based on business rules. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure processes are followed according to business rules and policies. Document all patient cases in the CRM in accordance with business rules and policies. Conduct renewal and year-end recertification processes as determined by the Patient Assistance Program. Assist with special projects within job scope to improve reimbursement optimization when requested by management. Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
Education Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent required. College or a 2-year Associate Degree is preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal direction. Capable of sitting, standing, and carrying heavy objects. Strong attention to detail. High-quality customer service skills. Ability to expres ideas clearly in both written and oral communications. Exposure to core insurance (Medical and Pharmacy Benefit) knowledge is a plus.
