Job Description

The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. This position is subject to the State of North Carolina Human Resources Act (SHRA). This position reports to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and provides high-level administrative, operational, and personnel support for the Dean's Office and the college. The position supports the daily operations of the office, helps coordinate college-wide faculty and personnel processes, and serves as a resource for departments across the college. Those serving in this role work closely with department heads, faculty, and administrative staff to support faculty searches, personnel actions, employment contracts, tenure, promotion, reappointment, fixed-term promotion, committee work, awards, scholarships, and related college processes. The position also helps ensure that records, deadlines, communications, and administrative workflows are completed accurately and on time. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the Dean's calendar and assisting with the Associate Dean's calendar as needed; supporting Department Heads Council meetings, including meeting minutes; maintaining faculty personnel and college files; supervising student workers; managing the College of Arts & Sciences website and social media feeds; and performing other duties as assigned. Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Anticipated Hiring Range $53,978 Position Type Permanent Full-Time Number of Hours per Week 40 Number of Months per Year 12 Salary Band Range $37,306 - $86,062 Salary Grade For administrative purposes during the implementation of Career Banding this journey level position is considered a Salary Grade 64.
