Description We are looking for a dependable Mailroom Clerk to support document handling and mail operations for a busy office. This is a Long-term Contract position offering regular hours, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work any assigned 8-hour shift during regular business operations and occasional overtime as needed. In this role, you will help maintain accurate file management, process incoming materials, and support administrative workflows in a fast-paced environment. Paid training is provided to help you build confidence and succeed in the position.
Responsibilities:
Organize, sort, and file patient-related documents while maintaining accuracy and meeting daily productivity expectations.
Retrieve stored records promptly in response to internal requests and ensure files are returned to the proper location.
Scan paper documents into electronic systems and verify that images are clear, complete, and properly indexed.
Process inbound and outbound mail, including internal distributions, lockbox materials, faxed items, and returned correspondence.
Update account or document status flags in applicable systems when returned mail or related issues are identified.
Respond to requests submitted by billing teams through shared inboxes and assigned work queues.
Assist with claim attachment preparation, fax distribution, and other clerical support duties tied to document workflows.
Rotate across multiple mailroom and filing processes as needed and complete additional departmental tasks assigned by leadership. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to work a regular 40-hour schedule, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for any 8-hour shift and occasional overtime.
Comfortable lifting up to 10 pounds and performing repetitive physical activity such as sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, and climbing ladders.
Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to learn new systems and navigate office-based applications.
Consistent prior work history in an administrative, clerical, mailroom, or document-handling environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with coworkers and support other departments.
Experience with Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, or OneNote, as well as office equipment like scanners, copiers, printers, and fax machines, is preferred.
