Job Description

Overview Our family law firm in Whippany, NJ is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Administrative Assistant/ Legal Secretary/ Paralegal to support our family law team. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated, professional, and experienced in family law or civil litigation. You will assist attorneys with case management, document preparation, scheduling, and client communication in a fast‑paced, supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Law Firm Administrative Support — Manage attorney calendars, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and maintain office organization. Law Firm Case Management — Organize and maintain case files, ensure accurate data entry, and support overall workflow. Law Firm Document Preparation — Draft, review, and proofread legal documents with a high level of accuracy. Law Firm File Management — Maintain electronic and physical filing systems; ensure proper classification and retrieval. Law Firm Client Communication — Answer phones, handle inquiries professionally, and coordinate communication between clients and attorneys. Law Firm Litigation Support — Assist attorneys with discovery preparation, court filings, and litigation tasks, court communications. Law Firm Confidentiality Compliance — Handle sensitive information in accordance with firm policies. Requirements Proven office experience with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proven experience as a paralegal or legal administrative assistant within a law firm environment. Background in family law required; civil litigation experience considered. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent writing, proofreading, and document‑drafting skills. Familiarity with legal case management software and data entry within a law firm setting. High attention to detail and accuracy. Professional communication skills, including phone etiquette. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment. Pay:
$50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
