ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, DRG systems, and electronic health record (EHR) management, contributing to the seamless operation of our medical billing processes and supporting optimal revenue flow. Duties Accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG systems in accordance with medical coding guidelines. Review medical records to ensure completeness and correctness of documentation for billing purposes. Prepare and submit insurance claims utilizing billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient third-party reimbursement. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures when necessary to ensure precise coding. Manage the entire revenue cycle process from medical record review to payment posting, including follow-up on unpaid claims. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, claim processing procedures, and industry regulations to ensure compliance. Support medical collection efforts by verifying insurance coverage and patient information for accurate billing. Assist in training staff on new coding updates, billing software features, and changes in healthcare regulations related to medical coding and billing. Qualifications Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting, with familiarity in both inpatient and outpatient services. Strong knowledge of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding standards, and DRG classifications. Proficiency with billing software platforms and electronic health record (EHR/EHR) systems for billing and coding management. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Knowledge of health insurance claim processing procedures and third-party payer requirements. Familiarity with revenue cycle management practices to optimize financial performance. Ability to interpret complex medical records accurately while adhering to coding guidelines. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
