Job Description

Why This Role Matters Great patient care doesn't end when the appointment is over. As a Medical Biller at Eyesight Ophthalmic Services, you'll help keep our revenue cycle moving, from accurate claims and timely payments to resolving insurance issues and helping patients understand their bills. Already have medical billing experience? Great. Newer to the field but organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn? We want to hear from you, too. We have an experienced team ready to train the right person. What You'll Do Depending on your experience and training, you'll: Review, prepare, correct, and submit insurance claims Research denials, rejections, underpayments, and outstanding balances Post and reconcile insurance and patient payments Assist with appeals and supporting documentation Help patients understand balances, insurance processing, and payment options Work with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, workers' compensation, VA, and other payers Learn and apply medical billing and coding requirements, including CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Cross-train in other billing functions as your knowledge and experience grow Who You Are You're someone who: Has a strong eye for detail and likes getting things right Enjoys problem-solving and figuring out why something didn't process correctly Is organized and comfortable juggling multiple priorities Communicates professionally with patients, insurance companies, and coworkers Is comfortable with technology and learning new systems Works well independently and as part of a team Wants to learn and grow in healthcare billing Even Better If You Have… Medical billing, coding, accounts receivable, payment posting, or healthcare experience Ophthalmology billing experience Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or commercial insurance Experience with EMR/practice management systems, especially ModMed Don't check every box? Pay:
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
