The following is preferred, but not required:

• Knowledge of retina authorizations
• Knowledge of medical insurances, policies, and protocols
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Experience verifying insurance benefits
• Ability to understand insurance claims (Explanation of Benefits)
• Some knowledge of retina terminology as it pertains to drugs and authorizations
• Experience speaking to insurance companies and obtaining authorizations
• Individuals with some experience or a desire to learn the medical billing industry should apply
