00 per hour We are an established private optometry practice seeking an experienced Medical Biller with a background specifically in Optometry and/or Ophthalmology to join our team. This position will be in person during the initial training period , with the potential for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of training and demonstration of consistent accuracy, reliability, and independent work performance . We are looking for someone who is dependable, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage medical billing, insurance follow-up, and prior authorizations. Previous optometry or ophthalmology billing experience is required. Responsibilities Submit medical and vision insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner Review claims for correct coding and required information prior to submission Work rejected and denied claims and submit corrected claims or appeals when appropriate Follow up on outstanding insurance accounts receivable Identify and address unpaid or underpaid claims Review EOBs and resolve insurance payment discrepancies Post insurance payments and adjustments accurately Complete and follow up on prior authorizations for medications, procedures, diagnostic testing, and other services Submit required documentation for prior authorization requests and appeals Track pending prior authorizations and follow through until a determination is received Communicate authorization approvals, denials, and additional requirements to the clinical team Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims, benefits, authorizations, denials, and payment issues Assist with insurance eligibility and benefit questions when needed Help identify recurring billing problems and ensure issues are corrected Maintain accurate documentation of billing and insurance follow-up Qualifications Prior billing experience in an optometry and/or ophthalmology practice is required Experience completing prior authorizations in an eye-care or medical setting Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures Working knowledge of

ICD-10, CPT

codes, modifiers, and insurance requirements Experience with both medical insurance and vision plans Experience working denials, rejections, appeals, and insurance A/R Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and follow-up skills Ability to prioritize outstanding claims and authorizations Ability to work independently and take ownership of billing responsibilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation & Benefits $23.00
