A busy neurology clinic is seeking a receptionist/medical billing and precertification; and will be cross trained to assist the medical assistant. The role will be cross trained to support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management and insurance billing. The target is to complete all activities accurately in a timely manner. We have two clinics, one in Bartlett and Ripley, Tennessee. You will experience both locations, according to your doctor's monthly schedule. We provide on-the-job training to ensure a successful onboarding process. Previous Multi-Line Phone System and eClinicalWorks(ECW) software is a plus. Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical history (triage) Organize and schedule appointments Update and file medical records and insurance reports (data entry) Arrange physician orders and referrals Prepare exam rooms and assist during procedures. Answering phone calls, respond to voicemails and fax Ensure HIPPA compliance and protection of patient information Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies Work claim rejections and denials to ensure payment. Work with management to ensure billing accuracy and minimal delay. Communicate treatment plans and financial responsibility with patients. Attend meetings and training Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant or insurance billing Knowledge of medical billing systems and procedures Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Preferred:

certifications; related experience Experience Proven experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting is required. Familiarity with DRG classifications, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and medical terminology is essential. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and billing software is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, claims processing procedures, and healthcare regulations is necessary. Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication abilities are vital for success in this role. Prior experience in a medical office environment demonstrating proficiency in medical records management and clinical support tasks will be advantageous. Additional Information
