Job Summary:

CORRECTIONAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN I
to daily check arrivals for future release dates and complete appropriate forms. In this role, you will also check and maintain a tentative release list to ensure inmates are released as mandated by law and ADCRR policy at the Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC) - Lewis in Buckeye, AZ. Job Duties:
Verifies release eligibility in accordance with applicable state statutes, policies, and procedures prior to the offender's release Processes release paperwork Notifies the appropriate authorities with release dates Arranges transportation to approved placement Coordinates parole hearings and processes paperwork Processes Sex Offender Registration and notification forms in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and ADCRR Sex Offender Coordination Unit Processes commitment paperwork for the Arizona State Hospital as necessary Answers staff questions regarding inmate records and the application of sentencing and release eligibility Reviews, verifies and enters data with the Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS) to determine accuracy, isolate, and define problems Corrects inaccurate data to ensure ACIS is able to use correct methodology for time computation Analyzes and interprets court orders, documents, and commitments to ensure the legality and accuracy as it pertains to inmate sentences, in order to accept a commitment to the ADCRR Processes Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers and prepares inmates for pick up by ICE Attends staff meetings and all mandatory training Drives on State business Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
Arizona Revised Statutes (ARS) and ADCRR policies and procedures governing releases, detainers, and warrants Automated and manual filing systems for inmate records Work management, leadership, and training practices and procedures English including grammar, spelling, and punctuation Personal computers and software including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and ACIS Mathematics Interpreting court documents and legal terminology Skill in: Interpretation, analysis, and application of ARS rules and regulations ADCRR policies and procedures as it applies to offender time calculations Interpretation and analysis of court documents and understanding of legal terminology Verbal and written communication Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relations Customer service Attention to detail Operation and use of ACIS General office practices Ability to: Comprehend complex policies, procedures, and departmental systems Understand and comply with verbal and written instructions Accurately perform complex mathematical calculations Understand legal terminology Retain and apply knowledge acquired Audit manual and automated systems Learn and adhere to ADCRR policies and procedures Interact professionally with employees and the public Work in a prison environment Selective Preference(s): Prefer experience interpreting court documents and legal terminology Prefer work history with legal documentation Experience with ACIS is also preferred
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test. In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter. If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.)
R2-10-207.11
). All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:
Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
