Job Description

This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for a highly organized individual with excellent multi-tasking skills. This key team member assists the Judge with facilitating the flow of documents and people through the courtroom. The Town offers a competitive benefits package. Expected Hiring Range:
$20.08 - $24.59 per hour Placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.
Salary Range:
$20.08 - $29.11 per hour Assists judge in courtroom during court proceedings; prepares court documents for the judge's signature; enters long form complaints; processes protective orders; updates the criminal case calendar in court; marks exhibits; records all trials and hearings; distributes all documentation to the correct persons and/or agencies; processes appeals; receives and processes jail paperwork. Manages electronic and paper court filings; prepares minutes entries for judicial review. Updates cases in the database; dockets all actions; adjudicates criminal cases; reports outcomes of cases to appropriate agencies; imposes fines and fees as required by orders and agreements. Serves as back-up to court clerks. Provides quality customer service both internally and externally. High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training. Over one year of experience in a closely related field. Ability to pass a fingerprint clearance background check. Completion of the Town of Marana background check. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Obtain 16 COJET credits annually. Maintain compliance with minimum accounting standards. Maintain compliance with the Code of Conduct of Judicial Employees. Obtain and maintain annual ACJIS Network Terminal Operator Certification.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Over one year of experience in a court setting or closely related field. Experience in a courtroom setting as a judicial assistant, courtroom clerk, civil hearing officer, or similar position.
