Under the direction of management, this position performs a variety of operations relating to the administrative functions and statutory responsibilities for the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The position requires the incumbent to communicate with co-workers, management, judges, elected officials and the public in a courteous and professional manner. Attend all Board of County Commissioner meetings, including joint meetings Accurately document Commissioners' motions verbatim Create the Board of County Commissioner meeting minutes Obtain signatures from the BOCC Chair and Clerk for official meeting minutes Route municipal documents for Clerk's signature and maintain signature tracking sheet Scan and file official meeting documentation in accordance with scheduled meeting dates Process requests for copies of Commission and Official Records Receipt petitions and assist with the Value Adjustment Board process Accept entry level documents for recording and verify statutory requirements Calculate and receipt related service fees Index and scan documents into the official record of Martin County Maintain compliance with Chapter 119, Florida Statutes and other statutory provisions Maintain current knowledge of best practices, court rules, statutes, administrative code, regulatory, and legislative developments to ensure proper application to division practices

This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma. Two year or four-year degree from an accredited school is desirable, and special consideration will be given to applicants who possess a degree of higher learning, or to those who are fluent in a secondary language. Exceptional recent relevant and related work experience and/or education may be considered in lieu of the minimum requirements on a year for year basis. Knowledge of the functions and organization of the Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller office, county divisions and municipalities Knowledge of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment Ability to utilize scanning equipment Ability to communicate serious problems and important issues to management Ability to answer phones and transfer calls using standard office procedures Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, where timeliness and accuracy are of critical importance Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing Ability to make sound, independent decisions Ability to effectively follow written and oral instructions Ability to receipt money and balance a cash drawer daily Ability to meet deadlines Supervisory responsibilities: None

Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
