None Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as back up to the Director of Intake Services in his/her absence. Must possess a general knowledge of the booking and admissions area and assist in the overall daily operation of the area. Calculation of inmate earned good time in compliance with BCSO policies and Mass General Laws. Facilitates, receives, reviews, and ensures accurate completion of paperwork associated with inmates being booked into the Bristol County Sheriff's Office, i.e.: fingerprints, mugshots, mittimus', q5 documents, victim witness info, notifications, and warrants. Work with security staff to facilitate the booking of new admissions in order to effectively handle periods of high volume. This includes interviewing inmates, completion of the booking screens in OMS, fingerprinting, and taking photos. Administer the
BCSO PREA
screening instrument with newly committed inmates to determine the inmate's potential risks for institutional sexual predatory behavior and vulnerability for institutional sexual assault and/or harassment during his/her incarceration at the BCSO. Enter into the inmate tracking system, booking screens, relevant identifying information such as name, dob, race, ss# emergency contact information, suicide risks, commitment information, and key sentence details. Interview and screen newly committed inmates to acquire information necessary for institutional purposes such as conflicts, stg affiliation and the entering of pertinent information such as escape risk and protective custody into oms. Assist security staff with the assigning of newly committed inmates to an initial housing unit that is consistent with the housing plan. Assisting security staff when inmates are identified as needing separation from the general population and alerting central classification and special investigation unit of the reasons that separation is needed. Ability to deal with various agencies and answer questions relating to inmates who are presently incarcerated or have been released such as address information, earned good time credits, parole eligibility dates, extradition arrangements. Facilitates and supervises new inmate bookings, video court hearings, sorb hearings, collect DNA samples and serves court orders as requested. Maintain and submit spreadsheets and report requests. Serving restraining orders and/or harassment orders to inmates. Ensure that they are given instructions and conditions of said orders and getting signatures for completion of services. Requests police reports / official versions for all sentenced inmates. Prepare court documents for inmates who are being transported to the various courts. Filing of all legal paperwork into the inmates records / index files that are required by federal, state and county law. Facilitates the release process for sentence completions paroling inmates and inmates posting bail. Updates computer records after ensuring payment of bail and fines correspond with what has been set by the court. Runs warrants and driver's license checks to ensure no other charges are pending. Confirms that inmate property and funds have been returned. Work in collaboration with the medical services division on the entering of suicide alerts, processing suicide risk information i.e.: q5 requests Ensure that the staff assigned to the booking and admissions area are trained and are adhering to the policies and procedures as they pertain to the processing of sentenced and pre-trial inmates. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work activities. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; understand and follows clear work instructions; distill relevant and useful elements from vast amounts of information.
