Our 270-room Marriott hotel is conveniently located just off Route 128/I-95 and adjacent to MarketStreet Lynnfield, one of the North Shore's premier shopping and dining destinations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team, developing associates, solving problems and creating an exceptional guest experience. You will join an experienced management team committed to operating a successful hotel and providing outstanding service to our guests. Position Overview The Front Office Manager is responsible for the leadership and day-to-day operation of the hotel's Front Office, including the front desk, guest services, PBX/communications, night audit and related guest-service functions. This position plays a key role in the overall guest experience and works closely with the General Manager and other department leaders throughout the hotel. The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on manager who is comfortable leading from the front, coaching associates, interacting with guests and taking ownership of the operation. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily operation of the Front Office and ensure consistent compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies. Recruit, train, coach, develop and motivate Front Office associates. Create and manage department schedules based on occupancy forecasts, business levels, payroll guidelines and operational needs. Maintain appropriate Front Office coverage and management presence based on hotel activity. Ensure associates consistently provide professional, welcoming and efficient service. Respond to guest questions, requests and concerns and ensure issues are resolved promptly and appropriately. Take ownership of guest recovery and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online feedback and service trends and develop action plans when improvement is needed. Maintain a strong understanding of Marriott Bonvoy benefits, recognition standards and enrollment opportunities and ensure associates are properly trained. Ensure accurate guest billing, deposits, payments, cash handling and credit card procedures. Maintain appropriate Front Office financial controls and investigate discrepancies when necessary. Oversee night audit procedures and ensure accurate completion of required reports. Conduct regular Front Office meetings, training and coaching sessions. Complete associate performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and recognition. Work closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, Food & Beverage and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations and excellent communication. Review arrivals, departures, VIPs, groups and special requests and ensure the Front Office team is prepared for each day's business. Walk the hotel regularly to identify operational, cleanliness, maintenance, safety and guest-service issues. Ensure maintenance concerns are promptly communicated to Engineering and followed through to completion. Maintain department supplies and inventory while controlling expenses. Assist with departmental budgeting, forecasting, payroll and expense management. Ensure compliance with hotel safety, security and emergency procedures. Assist with accident prevention, incident reporting and emergency response procedures. Maintain a professional, positive and respectful working environment for all associates. Serve as a Manager on Duty as required. Perform other leadership and operational responsibilities as assigned by hotel management. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Previous hotel Front Office leadership or supervisory experience. Marriott experience strongly preferred. Previous Front Office Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager or comparable hotel leadership experience preferred. Experience in a full-service or high-volume hotel environment is a plus. Strong leadership and associate-development skills. Excellent guest-service and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to remain professional and composed while handling challenging guest situations. Understanding of hotel operations, room inventory, guest billing and Front Office controls. Experience with hotel PMS and guest-service technology. Knowledge of Marriott systems, Marriott Bonvoy and Marriott guest-service standards is a plus. Ability to analyze guest satisfaction results and implement corrective action. Flexibility to work a hotel management schedule, including weekends, holidays and varying shifts as business needs require.
