23:55 EDT 14 Salary Commensurate with Experience Eli Broad College Of Business 1166379 Position Summary Manages the financial, personnel and operational activities of the Management Education Center to maximize utilization of facilities and to provide an interface between the Broad College of Business and the business community. Characteristic Duties
Responsibilities Markets Broad College programs & facilities to business, industry, government and trade associations.
Develops and implements long range plans and objectives to interface with the business community. Oversees and guides strategy for proposals to meet training and conference needs of business in cooperation with staff, corporate representatives and University partners. Plans and implements annual budget, develops long range budget projections, monitors financial operations, determines pricing policies & rates, authorizes expenditures and prepares financial operating reports. Designs and implements marketing strategies and promotional materials in cooperation with Broad College Marketing Communications and Executive Development Programs. Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates center staff and contractual service staff. Establishes policies and procedures and manages the daily operation of the center. Represent the center in community relations activities. Supports success of Executive MBA program through facility services. Communications
Interpersonal Relationships Interacts with: Corporate Executives, Governmental Offices, Association Managers
in order to develop, promote, market educational programs/conferences. University Officials, Faculty, Partners
in order to coordinate center activities. Major Contractors/Consultants
in order to provide required services. MEC Staff
in order to provide direction. Responsibility for the Work of Others Supervision over regular and Temp-On-Call employees. Responsibility for the Health-Safety of Others This position has responsibility for the health and safety of others. Work Environment The job requires moderate physical effort and involves active movement around the property 26

Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four year college degree program in an area such as business administration, hospitality business or a related business field; five to eight years of progressively responsible and expansive work experience in a hotel, restaurant or conference center management including conference coordination, marketing, staff development, public relations, building maintenance and services, supervision and financial management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired Qualifications May require valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position. Other skills and/or physical abilities required to perform duties of the position. This position requires, or will require, prior to the completion of the probationary period: knowledge of personal computer terminology and operations, and the ability to use e-mail, the Internet and Microsoft software. Basic understanding of conference center classroom presentation technology & equipment is desired.
