Job Summary We're looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated Office Administrator to support our day-to-day operations. This role touches nearly every part of the business — from scheduling and customer communication to permitting paperwork and billing — so no two days look exactly the same. We care more about how you think and organize than about checking every box on a resume. If you're highly organized, a fast learner, and comfortable picking up new systems and processes, we want to hear from you — even if you don't have direct electrical or construction industry experience (though it's a big plus if you do). What You'll Do Answer phones, respond to emails, and serve as a friendly first point of contact for customers and vendors Schedule and coordinate technicians, service calls, and job site visits Prepare, track, and file permits and other municipal paperwork Assist with invoicing, billing, accounts receivable/payable, and basic bookkeeping support Maintain job files, contracts, certificates of insurance, and other project documentation Order and track materials and office supplies Support estimating and bidding processes with data entry and document prep Keep licensing, insurance, and compliance records organized and up to date General administrative support: filing, correspondence, data entry, and office organization As You Grow With Us Once you're comfortable in the role, there's real opportunity to grow into construction project coordination — helping track project timelines, coordinate with subcontractors and inspectors, and support jobs from bid to completion. We're happy to train the right person into this side of the business. What We're Looking For Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail Ability to learn new systems, processes, and industry-specific terminology quickly Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced office Proficiency with basic office software (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace); comfort learning new software as needed Prior office administration experience is a plus, but not required if you bring the right skill set Knowledge of the construction industry (permitting, project terminology, subcontractor coordination, etc.) is highly valued and will fast-track your growth in the role Schedule Part-time to full-time. A hybrid schedule may be available after an initial in-office training/onboarding period, depending on role needs and performance. Why Join Us Join a well-established, respected electrical contracting company with decades of history in NJ Room to grow into project coordination and take on more responsibility over time Supportive team environment where initiative and learning are recognized and rewarded To apply, please submit your resume and a brief note on why you'd be a good fit.
