REDDING SCHOOL DISTRICT SECRETARY TO THE SUPERVISOR OF SPECIAL SERVICES

Hours:
Twelve-month position. Monday-Friday, 7-hour workday - 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (half hour for lunch unpaid)
Salary/Benefits:
In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement with the Redding Student Support Association. Comprehensive benefits. Salary range $25.31/hour to $28.49/hour or commensurate with experience.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to demonstrate initiative and use sound judgment Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as necessary Ability to manage and handle stress in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or its equivalent Three years of previous work experience as an administrative assistant or secretary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace with a strong aptitude for learning new software, including interactive technology Ability to communicate and interact with faculty, staff, students, parents and visitors tactfully and courteously at all times Responds appropriately on a daily basis to concerns and requests from the various constituencies that do not require the direct attention of the Supervisor Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to compose written memos, letters and other professional documents
Overall Job Duties:
Responsible to the Supervisor of Special Services for the supervision and coordination of functions, activities, clerical work and records of the Supervisor's office. Responsible for planning and scheduling of all PPT meetings and case conferences, including sending out notices and other legal paperwork, ensuring parents and staff are aware of meeting dates and are able to attend. Uploads documents into the CT-SEDS repository and ensures parents have access as appropriate. Maintains academic records for special education students Oversees the annual Preschool Program lottery and applicable tuition agreements/billing Prepares monthly Redding Board of Education Special Services reports Responsible for some State reports related to Special Education, including Restraint & Seclusion, ECOs, and SEDAC. Works closely with the Central Office Special Education accountant in matters related to Extended School Year, Excess Cost reporting, and purchasing/budgeting issues. Schedules performance observations for certified staff who are evaluated by the Supervisor Acts as the Supervisor's designee in handling matters related to staff and community relations as directed by the Supervisor Handles routine secretarial responsibilities (i.e., maintaining the Supervisor's appointment calendar, scheduling meetings/conferences/appointments; handling phone calls; typing reports and correspondence) Monitors Special Education staff absences for the two Redding schools in the RedRover Absence Management System.
