The Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program (EVWAP) , a nonprofit organization providing advocacy and assistance to victims and witnesses of violent crime, is seeking a compassionate, professional, and highly organized individual to join our team as a Victim Services Coordinator . This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working directly with people during difficult and often stressful circumstances. The Victim Services Coordinator provides support and advocacy to victims and witnesses while also assisting the Executive Director in carrying out EVWAP's programs, services, and reporting responsibilities. Position Details Location:
Springfield, Georgia — this is an in-office, community- and court-based position , not a remote position.
Status:
Currently part-time , with the possibility of transitioning to full-time negotiable based on the successful candidate and organizational needs.

Executive Director What You'll Do The successful candidate will have daily interaction with clients, both in person and by telephone , and should possess strong communication skills, empathy, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting initial client intakes, assessing individual needs, and helping develop appropriate advocacy plans. Providing crisis response, support, referrals, and ongoing advocacy to victims and witnesses of violent crime. Assisting clients with Temporary Protective Orders (TPOs), Victim Impact Statements, Crime Victims Compensation, court accompaniment, employer intervention , and other victim-service needs. Attending court and interacting professionally with members of the criminal justice system. The successful candidate must be comfortable communicating directly with Judges both in and outside of the courtroom , as well as working with attorneys, law enforcement personnel, court staff, and other community partners. Networking and coordinating with community organizations and criminal justice agencies to address client needs. Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential client records. Compiling program and client-service data and completing required quarterly reports , along with other reporting necessary to meet grant, funding, and organizational requirements. Entering and maintaining client-service statistics in required databases and providing regular case-status information to the Executive Director. Assisting with community education, public awareness activities, agency events, and fundraisers. Completing required initial and continuing victim-services training. The existing position description also requires mandatory TPO training through Georgia Legal Services, followed by swearing-in through the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit, as well as continuing education and Crime Victims Compensation training. Victim Services Coordinator Job… What We're Looking For Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in public relations, human services, criminal justice, or a related field OR at least two years of experience in victim services, criminal justice, social services, or a related field , consistent with EVWAP's current position requirements. This position requires a person who can sit with a victim in crisis, communicate confidently in a courtroom, answer a client's call with patience and empathy, and then return to the office and accurately document services and compile the data necessary to meet reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, comfortable speaking with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, able to manage sensitive and confidential information, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a small nonprofit environment.
