Role Description The MDS Assistant is a full-time, on-site role located in Bloomington, IN. This position supports the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process by assisting with data collection, documentation, and timely entry of resident assessment information in accordance with regulatory requirements. The MDS Assistant collaborates closely with nursing staff, therapy teams, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure accurate assessments that reflect residents' clinical status and care needs. Daily responsibilities include organizing resident records, preparing and maintaining assessment schedules, performing clerical tasks to support the MDS Coordinator, and communicating updates to relevant staff. The role also involves answering phones, responding to routine inquiries, and providing administrative support that helps maintain efficient operations within the community. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Administrative Assistance and Clerical Skills to manage documentation, records, and MDS-related workflow. Candidates should possess professional Phone Etiquette and Communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members. Candidates should possess Executive Administrative Assistance capabilities, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and supporting leadership with MDS processes. Relevant experience in long-term care or senior living, familiarity with MDS or clinical documentation, and basic knowledge of healthcare regulations are beneficial. Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana required. Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard office software, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
