Job Description

Position Summary The Administrative Assistant at First Parish in Concord is a key member of a collaborative and supportive team, responsible for office functions including but not limited to: congregational communications, website maintenance, database management and record keeping, coordinating rentals, and administrative support for the Minister, Governing Board, and an energetic UU congregation. Principal Responsibilities Keep our social media and website updated with regular posts, photos, graphics, and written content Maintain the church calendar, scheduling internal events and outside facility rentals, and coordinating with the Facilities Manager on event staffing Produce and distribute key publications, including our weekly newsletter, Sunday announcements, orders of service, and a biweekly social action newsletter Maintain posted FP publication guidelines; support users Send occasional email communications via MailChimp on behalf of church leadership Maintain staff information (work, weekly time off & payroll schedules; birthdays and contact information) Respond to inquiries by phone, email, and social media with a warm, helpful tone Support our membership database, entering data and generating reports as needed Assist committees and church leadership with meeting preparation and follow-up Order office and event supplies, including refreshments for weekly coffee hours Provide light troubleshooting support for office technology (copiers, phones, etc.) Attend staff, supervisory, and other meetings as requested Qualifications Demonstrated experience in office administration, including vendor relations and supply management Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, and Zoom, plus a willingness to learn new tools Experience with database or content management software (preferred) Basic troubleshooting skills for common office equipment and computer issues A friendly, hospitable presence, in person and over the phone Strong communication skills and sound judgment Excellent attention to detail and follow-through Comfort managing multiple priorities independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries An appreciation for and alignment with Unitarian Universalist values
Pay:
$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 24.0 per week
