Job Description

Full-time employees are eligible to earn vacation time. Additionally, Severn closes for two, two-week periods during the year. These are Winter Break and Spring Break. Tuition Remission Each full-time faculty and staff member is eligible for 50 percent tuition remission for children admitted to the School. New Faculty Support Our 122 full- and part-time faculty members allow for the small 10-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio and the average class size of 14. New faculty are enrolled in a mentoring program that assists them in acclimating to our community as well as allowing time for reflection on issues related to being a teacher. All employees are supported by the appropriate division head, the academic dean, as well as department chairs and peer mentors. Professional Development Faculty are encouraged to pursue professional development. Severn School assists employees in paying 75 percent of tuition costs for education which maintains or improves skills required for the employee's current position or meets express requirements imposed by the School as a condition of employment.

Month, Full Time Position Essential Functions :
Understand and support the school mission, vision and philosophy within and outside the school and community Collaborate with all constituents to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment Assist with daily operations of the school including organization of events and submitting all event set up forms Use Google docs and Microsoft Office to create and update documents Update annual school forms for families and/or faculty Communicate information to new parents Maintain the Lower School portion of the Binnacle and calendars on School's website and campus electronic board Maintain attendance/leave records for all Lower School employees Maintain and update student files Provide business office with monthly payroll information for substitutes/employees Copy and send all records for students moving on to other schools throughout the school year as well as for fifth grade students moving to Teel Campus and/or other middle schools Support admin team with annually updating faculty and parent handbooks Reserves conference room and other rooms as appropriate Type, maintain, and distribute class lists Assist Director of Instructional Program with processing potential substitute teachers Maintain and distribute updated substitute list to faculty Locate and recruit substitute teachers in the event of emergency leave for faculty members or days leading to their absence when notice is given Prepare materials for faculty/staff for pre planning week Coordinate with APA for annual school supply orders Assist admin team with updating the Emergency Operation Plan Coordinate emergency drills and maintain documentation for drills Serve as a liaison with portrait studio for individual portraits and class pictures; collecting and recording payments for photos, and managing portrait days Arrange catering for school events/meetings and serve as a liaison with catering vendors for school related events cover the front desk as needed Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The candidate must be highly organized and be able to manage multiple tasks and events throughout the day. Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential with experience using Google docs and Microsoft Office.
