Summary We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Administrative Assistant to join our team at Bertha Neal Elementary. This full-time position is essential for supporting the daily operations of the school, ensuring a welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive educational experience. Responsibilities
Manage front office operations, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.
Maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and confidential files.
Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and school events, coordinating logistics as needed.
Support teachers and staff with administrative tasks, such as preparing materials and managing correspondence.
Process incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution to appropriate parties.
Handle inventory management for office supplies and classroom materials, placing orders as necessary.
Assist in the preparation of reports, newsletters, and other communications for parents and the community.
Collaborate with school administration to implement policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
Provide support during school events and activities, contributing to a positive school culture.
Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.
Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Goggle, and comfortable with technology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Familiarity with school policies and procedures is an advantage.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.
