Summary We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Administrative Assistant to join our team at Bertha Neal Elementary. This full-time position is essential for supporting the daily operations of the school, ensuring a welcoming environment for students, parents, and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive educational experience. Responsibilities
  • Manage front office operations, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and confidential files.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, meetings, and school events, coordinating logistics as needed.
  • Support teachers and staff with administrative tasks, such as preparing materials and managing correspondence.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution to appropriate parties.
  • Handle inventory management for office supplies and classroom materials, placing orders as necessary.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, newsletters, and other communications for parents and the community.
  • Collaborate with school administration to implement policies and procedures that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide support during school events and activities, contributing to a positive school culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Goggle, and comfortable with technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with school policies and procedures is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.
