Environmental Services Director and Zoning Administrator HOURS :

40 hours per week

JOB PURPOSE

: Under the general supervision of the Zoning Administrator; provide customer service and assist in duties related to zoning ordinance, including working with related committees, board and commissions, and provide administrative support to the Environmental Services Department.

WAGE RANGE

: $27.60 - $36.80 PRIMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: Provides information, interpretations, and assistance to citizens, developers, builders, and other interested parties regarding the County Zoning Ordinance. Reviews and processes applications. Answers customer inquiries to the Environmental Services office related to Zoning, Septics, Feedlots, Water Quality. Wetlands, Water Testing, Waste Management, Radon Testing, and the Transfer Station. Conducts field inspections and investigations in accordance with zoning and septic regulations. Performs office administrative duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, officials and the general public. Knowledge of rules and regulations that relate to this area. See Job Description for complete listing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Related post-secondary training and two years of related office experience or equivalent. Combination of related education and experience will be considered. Strong communication skills including written, verbal and analytical skills are a must. Work experience in County or other public sector environment is highly desirable. One-year related experience and familiarity with ArcPro GIS is preferred. Valid Minnesota Driver's License required. Criminal background check required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work is medium to heavy, involving lifting and carrying objects weighing over fifty pounds. Finger and manual dexterity and motor coordination are required for the variety of jobs performed.
