Flowood, MS Job Details 21 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Phelps Dunbar LLP is an AmLaw 200 full-service law firm. The Mailroom/Runner/Office Services Clerk is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the firm's Office Services and Facilities functions. This position manages the processing, distribution, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail, courier packages, and other correspondence. The role also provides logistical support for court filings, document deliveries, facilities operations, records management, office supply inventory, conference room readiness, and other administrative support functions necessary to maintain efficient office operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Retrieve and process incoming and outgoing mail from the post office daily. Receive, log, sort, and distribute deliveries from UPS, FedEx, Statewide, and other courier services. Conduct scheduled collections of run slips and delivery requests throughout the office at scheduled intervals. Deliver and pick up documents, court filings, and materials from local and out-of-town courts, agencies, and business locations as needed. Distribute hand-delivered packages and correspondence promptly throughout the day. Manage all routine mailroom operations, including: Collection and processing of outgoing mail Postage metering Preparation of interoffice and Statewide mail Coordination of package shipments and deliveries Preparation of daily mailroom reports and records Assist with receiving, organizing, stocking, and maintaining inventory of office supplies, copy paper, and related materials in designated work areas. Monitor and replenish kitchen, breakroom, and copy room supplies to maintain operational readiness. Provide logistical support for attorneys and staff by transporting and delivering trial materials, exhibits, files, and boxes as needed. Assist with records management activities, including file maintenance, file shifting, archiving, and movement of records storage boxes. Assist with conference room setup, breakdown, and general office support projects as assigned. Support facilities-related functions and special office projects as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a law firm, professional office environment, mailroom, facilities, records management, or administrative support role preferred.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with standard office equipment. Ability to regularly lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds. Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required. Flexibility to work occasional overtime or adjusted hours when business needs require.
