Job Description:
The Residence Life Student Office Assistant serves as a welcoming and professional representative of the Residence Life Office. This position provides administrative support to office staff while assisting students, families, faculty, and visitors. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet students, families, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Answer office phones and direct calls to the appropriate staff member. Provide accurate information regarding Residence Life policies, procedures, and campus resources. Assist students with general questions and refer more complex issues to professional staff. File, organize, and maintain office records and documents. Prepare mailings, copy materials, and assist with general office projects. Hang flyers and bulletin board postings throughout the residence halls and campus as directed. Monitor and maintain office supply inventory and notify staff when supplies are low. Assist with check-in/check-out processes, housing operations, and special projects as assigned. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment. Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be a currently enrolled SUNY Delhi student in good academic and disciplinary standing. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email. Preferred Qualifications Previous customer service or office experience. Familiarity with SUNY Delhi and Residence Life policies and procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds when hanging flyers, moving office supplies, or assisting with office projects.
