Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, this position will provide clerical and fiscal support to the Health and Human Services Department. The Administrative and Fiscal Clerk greets and directs all visitors, vendors and customers, handles incoming calls and performs general clerical & fiscal duties, calling for familiarity with agency procedures. The Administrative and Fiscal Assistant integrates trauma-informed care while serving others. Time will be shared between fiscal and administrative responsibilities. To be considered, qualified candidates will need a high school diploma or equivalent, with one or more years of experience performing complex office/administrative duties, preferably in a medical or health-related office setting. Demonstrated experience in a government agency preferred, but not required. Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs is required. Health and Human Services Deputy Director Position Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, this position will provide clerical and fiscal support to the Health and Human Services Department. The Administrative and Fiscal Clerk greets and directs all visitors, vendors and customers, handles incoming calls and performs general clerical & fiscal duties, calling for familiarity with agency procedures. The Administrative and Fiscal Assistant integrates trauma-informed care while serving others. Time will be shared between fiscal and administrative responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Job duties are assigned and the employee uses initiative to meet recurring objectives. The duties and responsibilities described are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. This position should be available to work in the office during posted business hours, typically Monday through Friday from 8-4 PM. Prepare requisitions, invoices receipts Check bills against approved schedules Enter payments into county computer system Disburse checks from the Treasurer's office Bills insurance for services; reconciles same Maintain agency accounts receivable; responsible for reporting to the agency leaders Prepare statistical and financial records and reports on a monthly, semiannual, and annual basis Track all authorized purchased services for billing purposes Assure accurate reporting in the agency accounting system General agency clerical duties including, but not limited to, reception, scheduling, scheduling, filing, collecting payments from customers at the front desk, scanning, verifying health coverage in appropriate portals, utilizing electronic medical record system, navigating various agency and state portal systems and scanning Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or its equivalent, knowledge of general accounting practices, 2 years of office/bookkeeping experience and/or business courses and training, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. An Associate's degree or higher is preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Ability to work independently and use effective time management techniques Ability to meet multiple timelines Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication Deal with sensitivity to the needs of people with different cultural, environmental, and social backgrounds Analyze data, problem solve, and make logical decisions Write and prepare a variety of statistical reports, records, and charts Establish and maintain effective working relationship with others Input, access, and analyze data using a computer terminal Accept agency philosophy, purpose, and objectives
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in performing movements requiring moderate skill, such as typing. Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration. Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Environmental Adaptability Ability to work under safe conditions where exposure to environmental factors such as repetitive computer keyboard use poses a very limited risk of injury.
