T his is an independent contractor (1099) position paid per visit. It is not salaried and not full-time. Summit Networks is a service-disabled veteran-owned IT provider in Colorado Springs. We do managed IT, cybersecurity, networking, Microsoft 365, VoIP, cabling, and backup for businesses with 5 to 100 people. You are the person who shows up. When a client needs hands on a workstation, a server, or a rack, you drive out and fix it. We send you the work, you accept what suits you, and you invoice us.

WHAT IT PAYS

• $65 to $85 per hour during standard business hours
• $95 to $110 per hour for after-hours and emergency callouts
• Two-hour minimum on every dispatch. A twenty-minute job still pays two hours.
• Mileage paid beyond 25 miles from central Colorado Springs
• Project and cabling work quoted per job
• Paid on invoice within 15 days
• No base pay, no benefits, no guaranteed volume

THE WORK

• Workstation and server work: hardware installs, imaging, replacements, break/fix
• Installing and swapping network gear (firewalls, switches, access points) to a configuration we provide
• Structured cabling runs and terminations, and cleaning up racks
• On-site troubleshooting when something cannot be fixed remotely, with one of our engineers on the phone if you want them
• Site surveys, plus photos and notes afterwards so documentation matches the site

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Field or desktop support experience, for an MSP, a break/fix shop, a VAR, or on your own
• Your own tools, your own vehicle, your own vehicle insurance, clean driving record
• Comfortable in a server room and in a front office, and you talk to the client rather than past them
• Willing to pass a background check. Some of our clients are medical practices and defense contractors, and their sites require it
• Most dispatches are weekdays during business hours, Monday through Wednesday especially.

THE TERMS

• Independent contractor (1099). You use your own tools and vehicle and decide which dispatches to accept.
• No exclusivity and no non-compete. Keep your own clients and keep working for whoever else you work for. We only ask that you not solicit the clients you meet through us.
• You are never obligated to take a job. Decline anything without it affecting what we send you next.
• Full terms are in a written agreement we both sign before you start.
