Job Description

Job Summary You'll spend your shift sorting incoming packages by destination and moving them to the right bins or lanes. It's hands-on work. We're a mid-sized distribution center, and volume usually climbs in the afternoon once the trucks start arriving, so you'll settle into a rhythm fast. Between loads you'll also help stage outgoing pallets and straighten any section that got messy during a rush, which takes a few minutes but saves the next crew some trouble. Responsibilities Sorting packages by label into the correct bins. Scan barcodes as items come off the truck. Moving full bins to the staging area with a hand truck, which sometimes means lifting up to 50 pounds. Pulling damaged or mislabeled items aside for the supervisor. Light cleaning between shifts. Restock labels and gloves as they run low. Counting totals at the end of each shift and writing any mismatches on the tally sheet so the next crew knows what's still waiting. Qualifications You notice when a label doesn't match the bin, even while the line is moving quickly. When the afternoon gets busy, staying calm and asking a question beats guessing, and we'd rather you ask. Showing up on time for your scheduled shift matters, since the next crew depends on what you finish. We want a team player who passes along a quick heads-up when something's off. Reading labels and sort sheets in English is part of the job, and you'll often get comfortable with the handheld scanner after a short walkthrough. If plans change mid-shift, you can adjust and move to whichever area needs help, it's just part of how the day goes.
