Overview Arkansas Counseling and Psychodiagnostics is searching for the perfect candidate to serve as our Referral Coordinator/Receptionist. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and providers, managing referrals, assigning providers, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate medical records. Your proactive attitude and excellent customer service skills will help foster a welcoming environment while supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service while managing check-in and check-out processes. Coordinate referral processes by obtaining necessary authorizations, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring timely submission of referral documentation. Manage client assignments efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, accommodating provider availability and patient needs. Verify insurance information, including health insurance policies, managed care details, and prior authorization requirements to facilitate smooth billing procedures. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations, including documentation of referrals, medical history, and billing information. Support office operations by handling phone calls, managing correspondence, updating patient information in Microsoft Office applications, and organizing medical records efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office or healthcare environment with familiarity in office administration duties. Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care processes, insurance verification procedures, and prior authorization protocols. Proficiency in EHR systems along with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for record keeping and communication. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA to protect patient privacy at all times. A strong foundation in medical office procedures is essential. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Services, or related field is preferred, but not required. Preference will be given to applicants with documented work history in medical offices or referral coordination. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) office based position. Pay based on experience.
