Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle medical collections and process payments accurately. Maintain accurate patient records and update client information as necessary. Assist veterinarians and technicians with animal handling, restraint, and care during examinations. Provide information to clients regarding pet care, services offered, and veterinary procedures. Manage phone calls, emails, and inquiries in a professional manner. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room. Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure smooth clinic operations. Requirements Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred, with knowledge of veterinary terminology. Familiarity with medical collection processes is advantageous. Experience in animal handling, including dog handling and restraint techniques. Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry practices, and aseptic techniques is beneficial. Experience with laboratory procedures or equine care is a plus. Strong communication skills and ability to work well with both clients and team members. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for managing records effectively.
