Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Job Description

The Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant creates a positive and welcoming environment for patients and their families and maintains an organized, efficient workspace ensuring seamless scheduling, billing, and communications. Candidates will be performing a variety of administrative tasks supporting the clinical team while ensuring the highest quality customer service in a fast-paced medical practice.
Responsibilities:
Greeting patients and checking them in and out of the facility Answer office phones and faxes Schedule and coordinate appointments Update and maintain patients' health records in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules Assist with patient prior authorizations Coordinate with a third-party billing company for insurance claims Use medical software to manage receivable and payable accounts and maintain patient financial records Answer patients' queries and ensure quality customer service Collaborate with the doctor, nurses, and technicians to help with medical examinations, schedule tests/procedures, and order supplies Ensure compliance with required policies and procedures Keep up-to-date with changes in medical and insurance billing Assist Practice Administrator with other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills:
Prior work experience as a Medical Receptionist is required Experience with electronic medical records and practice management software General knowledge of healthcare operations Familiarity with medical coding and insurance billing Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills Customer-oriented communication skills High school diploma; certification in medical administration is a plus
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
