Job Overview Join our vibrant pet care team as a Grooming Salon Receptionist and Bather, where you will be the friendly face that welcomes pet owners and their beloved animals. In this dynamic role, you will coordinate appointments, assist with pet bathing and grooming such as restraining and cleaning up messes. and ensure every pet receives compassionate care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine your love for animals with excellent customer service skills in a lively, pet-focused environment. Duties Greet pet owners warmly, schedule grooming appointments, and manage the salon's daily workflow efficiently. Answering phone calls, voicemails and text messages as they come. Assist with bathing, drying, brushing, and basic grooming of pets to ensure they look and feel their best when needed. The bather part of this position is on an ass needed basis and is not the main duty of the position. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during grooming procedures Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming needs, special instructions, and pet care tips. A strong confident attitude is a must. Not all conversations are comfortable to have. Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and waiting areas to uphold hygiene standards. Deep cleaning of the salon happens weekly and all staff participate in this. Other tasks such as packaging treats for the dogs, taking inventory, restocking shampoos and unboxing restocking shipments. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move large or heavy pets safely and comfortably Qualifications Prior experience in pet grooming, bathing, or handling companion animals is highly desirable but not required Knowledge of dog training techniques or veterinary experience is a plus Familiarity with animal restraint methods and pet coat styling techniques Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members Ability to handle animals safely during grooming procedures and while performing animal care tasks Computer skills. Must be familiar with both word and PowerPoint programs. Must be able to do simple math quickly without a calculator.
