Position Description:
This position serves as receptionist for consumers receiving service at the agency as well as answering the phone and related functions. This position welcomes and checks in all consumers presenting for service, as well as assisting in scheduling appointments. Check in tasks include but are not limited to verifying client's demographic data and payor, copying insurance cards and other financial paperwork, and addressing barriers to payment identified during the check in process. Receptionists monitor and assist consumers in the reception area to ensure safety and timely service provision. The Receptionist also assists with completion of financials, collecting fees and co-pays at the time of service and related duties to ensure payment for services. Receptionists monitor clinician appointments to ensure schedules are full, consumers are seen as promptly as possible and identify errors or problems in the schedule. Tasks include daily review of current and future schedule, reminder calls to consumers, and schedule data clean-up using automated reports. Reception staff participate in data entry for services provided and information updates. Receptionists are cross trained in other support functions to provide the agency with back-up to any support position. It is essential that the Receptionist is always friendly, helpful & courteous to consumers & staff and demonstrates a "customer service" attitude.
