Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. The Administrative Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment for guests, staff, and visitors. This position oversees the check-in and check-out process at the administrative reception area, assists with inquiries, and provides accurate information about Taos Ski Valley, including services, operations, and amenities. This is a full-time position scheduled for 32 hours per week. An ideal candidate is friendly, approachable, and eager to build positive relationships with both internal and external guests. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt easily to new challenges, and seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills. This job description provides a general outline of responsibilities. Duties should be carried out in alignment with Taos Ski Valley, Inc.'s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist visitors in person and by phone, directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
  • Manage calls: screen, transfer, and provide information as needed.
  • Maintain employee and departmental directories.
  • Assist staff and guests with requests promptly and professionally.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Administrative Office and HR.
  • Ensure reception and common areas are safe, clean, and presentable.
  • Manage office communications, including email, mail distribution, and fax/photocopy tasks.
  • Support marketing and department updates by reporting missing or incorrect information.
  • Handle confidential and safety-sensitive information with discretion.
  • Process payments, sell tickets & passes, and exchange vouchers using Siriusware Point of Sales.
  • Maintain supply inventories for office, kitchen, and restrooms.
  • Ensure the professional appearance of the reception area, lobby, and mailroom.
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during holidays and Peak days. TSVI is in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff. Physical Demands of Position Include:

May frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Sitting/standing approximately 70% of the time. Walking, reaching, and bending approximately 20% of the time. This position will require individuals to be out in winter conditions 10% of the time.
