BILINGUAL MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

Patient Services Location:
[Patchogue, NY] We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and organized Bilingual Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient service while efficiently managing front-desk and administrative responsibilities in a busy medical setting. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally. Check patients in and out, verify demographic and insurance information, and collect copayments when applicable. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and route calls appropriately. Communicate clearly with patients in both English and Spanish. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Coordinate with clinical staff, providers, pharmacies, and other departments as needed. Process referrals, forms, medical records requests, and other front-office documentation. Assist with general administrative tasks to support smooth daily clinic operations. Maintains other areas of the facility as directed (
Example:
restrooms, waste cans, kitchen, etc.) includes cleaning and sanitizing as necessary
NOTE:
YOU WILL BE TRAINED TO TRIAGE PATIENTS AS WELL.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare, customer service, or reception setting preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred. Language Proficiency Requirements Fluent English required. Fluency in Spanish is absolutely required , including the ability to communicate effectively with patients both verbally and in writing. Ability to explain routine administrative and appointment-related information clearly in both languages. Medical terminology proficiency in both languages is strongly preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
