Job Description
Overview We are seeking a friendly and attentive Counterperson to join our team at a busy pizzeria. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service and ensuring a positive dining or ordering experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a welcoming attitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet customers warmly as they arrive and assist them with placing orders both in person and over the phone. Take accurate orders for dine-in, takeout, or delivery, ensuring all customer requests are understood and fulfilled correctly. Handle cash register operations, process payments, and provide receipts. Answer customer questions about menu items, specials, and ingredients to help them make informed choices. Prepare and package food items as needed, maintaining cleanliness and organization at the counter. Maintain a clean and inviting counter area, adhering to health and safety standards. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order preparation and delivery to customers. Manage customer concerns or complaints professionally, striving for customer satisfaction. Assist with restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels at the counter. Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse customers effectively. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately. Friendly attitude with a strong customer service orientation. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks during busy periods. Dependability and punctuality are essential qualities for this role. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
