JOB SUMMARY
The Receptionist in the Business Office serves as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors and callers, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This position is responsible for managing the main switchboard, directing calls appropriately and greeting individuals in a professional and courteous manner. The receptionist also assists other Business Office staff with a variety of administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the department and ensure a positive experience for hospital patients and their families.
Responsibilities Include:
Serving as the first point of contact for patients, visitors and vendors Operating the hospital's main switchboard and directing calls accurately and efficiently Providing general information and assistance to customers in person and over the phone Supporting Business Office staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry and document preparation Maintaining a clean, organized and welcoming front desk environment Communicating professionally and confidentially in all interactions Assisting in the completion of daily departmental responsibilities as needed If you're a friendly and organized professional with a passion for customer service and making a great first impression, we'd love to hear from you! QUALIFICATIONS
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage a high volume of calls with accuracy and efficiency Proficiency in basic computer applications and office equipment preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Previous experience in a healthcare or front office setting is preferred but not required Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description High School Diploma or equivalent required Must successfully pass a criminal background check and reference checks
